CSS – Cascading Style Sheet

CSS is an abbreviation that appears quite often when you hear and read about web design.

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet and is used to format the layout of web pages. It is used to define text styles, table sizes, and other aspects of web pages that previously could only be defined in a page’s HTML.

CSS helps to work with several pages of a web site at the same time, instead of defining the style of each table and each block of text within a page’s HTML.

CSS makes it easy to change styles across several pages at once.

Another very useful feature of CSS is that you can assign different style sheets to different parts of a web site. This is very useful when working with multi-lingual sites where some of the languages are right to left instead of left to right.
